I'm hard of hearing so I couldn't hear anything from the video but have you checked your exhaust? It could be a header pipe working loose. Exhaust leak can sometimes sound like a lifter pecking and the pipe can make some rattle and pop noises. Just making wild guesses here.

Yea I didn't have much time to fiddle with it yesterday but I do plan to roll it out and give it a going over sometime this week. It would be great if its something as simple as a heat shield or a lever rattling.
Fingers crossed.

I'm confused. I thought that you had vertigo & couldn't ride.

Nope, you got me mixed up with someone else. I had a little bout of vertigo a while back but not enough to keep me from riding. Mine was really minor and only happened when I first woke up or if I stood up from a sitting position too quickly.
Maybe but I doubt it. I've had a bad batch of fuel before, it usually takes a minute or two before it runs through the fuel lines and injectors. This was instantaneous at start up.
It may have been doing it as I pulled into the gas station but I was focused on the 15 or so cars moving all around me so I wasn't paying much attention to the sound of my motor at that time.
It's probably the overheated/expanded metal (engine, exhaust) that is contracting as the bike cools down. Very common after a long ride.
If you're talking about the pinging, tick like sound the exhaust makes after you shut the bike off its not that at all. I've heard that sound hundreds of times. This sounds like its coming from the top of the front cylinder. I will try to check it out this weekend sometime and have a better listen.
Harbor Freight has a stethoscope that I use for these types of sounds. It is $2-3 dollars and can save you lots of time searching for the problem. I think that local auto part stores carry them as well.
