This deals with both bikes and cars but remember well from drivers ed, when seeing a vehicle st a side street waiting to cross or enter, don’t watch the car but watch the front wheel. It’s easier to tell if a car is starting to move by watching the tire turn than to pick out if the whole car is moving. I’ve passed this tip onto so many youngsters starting out.

FIRST piece of advice, and overall the BEST piece of advice I got was circa 1971
"Ride like you're invisible"
very little else matters....you have to watch out for everyone else on the road, yes, even (and maybe especially) other motorcyclists.
There have been many other good ones, but that's the one which has proven most important...to me
