Help
Ok I have a 2014 heritage softail battery light come on almost didn't make it home before it died .put the battery on charge now it comes on after the bike gets hot does that sound like a bad battery

Have you got a service manual? I know more about older ones but the symptom you have kinda points to a voltage regulator.
Not saying it is a regulator but some testing is in order.
As mentioned see if there are codes set and do a load test on the battery.

Yes they can as well a battery also.
The battery is a possibility just not as likely in what you have described.
