Yep, trust the people who have been doing it longer than anyone else--AAA. But...., you will need the AAA RV PLUS benefit package to cover a bike. Gives you I don't remember how many tows per year but the tow is covered up to 100 miles.
My wife just recently paid our yearly premium for the AAA RV PLUS. Was either $162 or $164.
The RV requirement varies by state (and apparently by circumstance). Per my post above I do strongly suggest the RV endorsement and all licensed drivers be covered with the motorcycle/RV endorsement.

The best way to do roadside assistance is AAA Auto Club. It is far superior to any coverage offered by your insurance agent, does not give you a claim on your record, and offers discounts on other goods and services.
We have 2 cars, 2 trucks, 3 motorcycles and 1 trike ALL covered under AAA/RV road service!

You are spot on about different state's laws and how that can impact AAA benefits. I had a lengthy conversation with a AAA lady on Friday asking about different benefit levels and costs. On the AAA website they show PLUS RV, which is what I have, then they show a PREMIERE level--not for motorcycles. But...., not listed on the website they also have PREMIERE RV which covers motorcycles. The towing on my PLUS RV is 100 miles. To get 200 mile towing for a bike you need the PREMIERE RV which is another $36 yearly. And there are additional benefits also but nothing that I really need or want to pay for.
Some of their plans also have trip interruption coverage and other things--my real concern is with getting a tow and I think I will stick with my plan with 100 mile towing.
The lady and I talked about so many things, and we got into guns LOL she is a 2A person all the way. So I can't remember the example she gave me but it had to do with N. Carolina where a certain AAA benefit wasn't available BUT if you needed that benefit and it was part of your membership level you could pay for it and get reimbursed from AAA afterwards.
The thing to ask your agent is if using the coverage through State Farm incurs a claim on your history. Using that coverage will then cost you for 4 years if that is the case. And it nearly always is. Not picking just informing.
Wouldn't have taken it as picking. It's a valid point.
I know that we've used the roadside assistance thru State Farm on my wife's car. I don't recall using any claims incurred or increase in premiums. But obviously attention to detail is not my wrong suit.
Good point. But my tire is a tubed tire. I'd rather just know I have the roadside assistance and that it can be taken care of in shop.
The ride was meant to be a group ride... but there was only one other person (the guy running the group). He had a pump and patch kit, but it wasn't for a tubed tire
Ah, yes, the Kryptonite of the spoked wheel. Sorry man.
