October worked for me last year..I started walking in to a few dealers getting sticker shock,,,gave my name & phone number, they called me with a deal I couldn't pass up on.
I did really well last year. I bought my 2006 about a week after the dealership already had 07's on the floor. Mine was $1,000.00 off MSRP and all the add onswere discounted as well. It was sitting there with V&H ovals, stage 1 and alarm all stuff that I wanted.
Start looking and you should be able to find a good deal.
Best of luck hunting
From my snooping around some dealerships the sales people tell me the 08's won't be fully in the showrooms until mid to late August. Seems like early September is the best "supply and demand" time to deal. AndI agree, I'll buy the bike I want.If that's an 08 that's fine with me. But if I can find a color I like for the right price in an 07 that works! A $1000-$1500 savings buys alot of parts! I was really more interested in when folks thought the 07 inventory gets thinned out.
I hate it when people come into the store that I work at and make an offer.[:@] It's not a frikon garage sale for christs sake. It's a business that needs to make money to stay open. If it can't stay open, it can't supply you with the chit you need. Think about it. DUH!!!

I even do this at WalMart and got a 42" plasma TV for 25% off this way.
If you're lucky you'll find a 2006! The good old 5 speed. Ride it first and you will hear noises that should not be there in the 07. Ratio is screwed up too. My bet is this is going to be the biggest recall in the history of HD. Thicker grease is not fixing them.
