Back pain when riding
Also, you do not state if you are in pain when you are not riding or only when you ride.
If you are in pain even when not riding it would seem prudent to seek medical help. And if it is something that cannot be fixed with surgery or therapy there is pain management services that can help. If riding aggravates the pain...I gues you know what you need to do. I don't think you will find anything that can be added or changed on the bike that will eliminiate such pain.
If you are ONLY in pain when you ride it would seem apparant that there is something wrong with the bike and/or you when riding. Poor posture comes to my mind right away because your riding position can definately be a cause of pain.
The relationship between HB's, seat and controls can be the culprit. As mentioned a backrest can improve posture as can different HB's and/or seat.
