Last weekend had one go up the rolled up sleeve of my left arm and he put it to me good.I was rolling up to a 4 way stop soI kicked the bike in neutral, dug his *** out of my sleeve and the stinger was still wigglin in my arm. I pulled the stinger out and stuck him between the eyes so he could see what it felt like. He screamedandI think he flew off looking for a pharmacy for some sting medicine.
My arm hurt like hell but since I kinda like pain, it was no big deal.
One bee sting in the forarm, had bee hit me in the neck and get inside my full-face helmet (luckily no sting). And had a seagull hit me on top of the same helmet at about 45 MPH, I saw it coming and ducked my head to keep it out of my face. Terrible neck cramps for a few days and a white mark on the lid that a sandbalster couldn't remove. That was on a metric w/o windshield. The FLSTCI has prevented several large bug encounters, rarely ride without it, even in the best of weather.
I had a bee get inside my helmet once and sting me on the right temple while riding in traffic. Hurt like hell. Fortunately, I was able to control the bike until everything cleared.
Only been stung once in 20 some years of riding.... while wearing a pair of shorts, the damn thing stung me about 2" from my crotch.
The funny part is, since I've been riding my softail, I don't wear a full face helmet, I remember when I used to ride sportbikes and had a full face helmet, I've had some creatures that just SPLATTERED the windscreen so bad, I had to pull over to clean it.
Can't wait for that to happen since I'm wearing a brain bucket now.
