I have a 2006 Harley Sportster 883r XL I am having issues I was riding and all the sudden engine started bogging out and then shut off try to restart bike and it seems like no power my headlight won't come on but my tail light is and when I hit the start button I lose even more power but when I have a jump pack hooked to it it starts right up but soon as the jump pack is taking off it shuts off the bike what is going on
Check all wire connections to the battery and their destinations , ground and starter also check your starter switch at the key make sure your wires are tight there to .
It sounds like a bad battery. Could be the battery cables or the ground connections.
By the lights going out when trying to crank it means to me it's not in the ignition circuit. It's n the main power circuit thats weak. My guess = the battery or its cables.
Have it tested or try a known good battery and check its cable connections and ground lug.
Good luck.
