Indian is wiling to unload a substantial amount of money into the sport, where Harley does not. Indian has done a nice job marketing models that justify their involvement.

Indian does NOW.....but they have only been active in the last few years (2017 is the first time they won the championship since 1953) Harley and Honda are what the sport survived on the last 40 years...Indian had ZERO part in that. Just because they seem like they are winning every race now, its only been the last few years. Harley has DOMINATED flat track racing since its inception in the 50's....54 Championships are on Harley....heck Jared Mees has 6 championships, 4 of them on Harley and only the last 2 on Indian. Indian is CURRENTLY operating on the age old principle, Win on Saturday, sell on Monday....but if that doesnt work out for them (and judging from my local Indian Showroom, I dont think it is) we will see them pull back MASSIVELY in the coming years and suddenly Harley will start winning again...mark my words...

Ummm, Harley had dominated it from the time the original Indian closed shop until 2017 when the new Polaris Indian started it up again. Prior to the closing of the original Indian, Harley was, as they are now, getting their asses kicked.
