Yeah, but how many of us can flip a motorcycle...?

personally, no i can't flip a motorcycle but i've spent time at woodward camp in pennsylvania (been riding bmx my entire life), hung out with many pro motox guys and they pretty much all agree it's easier to do on a motorcycle than a bicycle believe it or not. i've flipped a few into a foam pit on my bike but that's about it. this goes for just about any trick those guys are doing on motox bikes, 99% of all the tricks they're doing came from bmx. i'm not downplaying anything those guys do on motox bikes believe me, barrelling at a 30 ft. lip and jumping 90ft. is a HUGE deal even if you don't do any tricks. the consequences of crashing are that much worse! i know it sounds crazy but having that kind of amplitude, weight displacement makes those jumps and tricks that much easier. you just have to have the ***** to rip at the jump at 50+ mph but same premise on a bike. bmx takes a little bit more finesse.

if you listen carefully the dude is revving the **** out of motor this in turn rotate the rear tire so he can complete this task at hand.

the same goes for wheelies you tap throttle to stay up and you also tap rear brake to keep you from going over. its all in the rider
this is why proper braking is important on the street.

great video, fun to watch. would like to have seen it in person. I think any of these stunts are potentially mega dangerous for the rider. He was shaking from the adrenalin after the flip. I wonder how many times he and other riders fail until they get it right. Takes guts. I am happy when I round a turn successfully on the road

I've wondered that same thing myself. To me, it's pretty amazing that these guys stay alive and functional long enough to get really good at this stuff. Just imagine a 450 pound bike falling on top of you when you screw up and don't make it all the way around.

So you're saying it's easier to backflip a 600 pound motorcycle than it is a 15lbs bicycle? No...It's actually not
Guys were backflipping bicycles a long time before Carry Hart/Caleb Wyatt/Mezger did the first one on a motorcycle, because it's easier to do. And you don't need a degree in physics to understand that.

The dude backflipped an XR, and that's an amazing feat.
Just leave it at that.

agreed.....

i'm saying there is more finesse and body english involved doing it on a bicycle than a dirtbike where the motor is doing a lot of the work to help bring the bike around. again, not downplaying it one bit, it's stilll huge and still crazy and yes, still a flip on an xr.
