Only thing I’d caution is they are mostly doing physical labor so they don’t need as much help heating themselves...sitting on a bike a 75+ miles per hour you are talking low physical effort (comparatively) and serious wind chill.

Also, honestly, once you use heated gear....you will like it. A lot. You will want to use it more in my experience. With the plug in you’re set for any trip of any length. No need to deal with charging ever.

One reason I like my plug in jacket liner is it fits under my normal leather jacket which you need to cut wind. The liner was around $125 at Cycle Gear. I like not paying more for a jacket that’s not really ideal for motorcycle riding...or paying a lot more for one that is right for riding, but I have a perfectly good ride jacket that I’d rather use anyway.

Another is it just plugs into into the battery charging lanyard...simple and easy. It disconnects easily without any issue on the rare occasion I get off the bike and forget I’m tethered.

Anyway just some thoughts.

So true! On a chilly day I turn on the electric liner, pull the soft suede like collar around my neck and it's better them having a 23 year old red head with big blue eyes and big tata's breathing heavy on me neck. Well..... maybe not better but close!!!

No need to be cold when riding, nope, never!!

That makes a lot of sense and getting me to re-think this whole thing.
Question: "Another is it just plugs into into the battery charging lanyard" - are you sating that I just plug it into the pigtail connected to the battery ?

I've been thinking about the Milwaukee jacket as well, but don't know anyone with real world experience of using it riding. If you do end up going that route, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it!

Look at the review from the Home Depot and Amazon sites. There are plenty of posts of riders using them. Very good reviews from riders using Milwaukee, and I recall Ororo having the best reviews.

The reviews are what have been keeping me from pulling the trigger haha. Seems there are 1-2 reviews that are only 1 or 2 stars for every 5 star review. Although I guess being able to return it right to Home Depot if its faulty is a bonus since I'd be able to avoid return shipping and handling.

I usually leave for work around 5:15am and come home around 7:30-8:00pm. Only have about 30-40 minute ride. So not looking for furnace hot, but definitely something that could keep the chill out riding 50-75mph.

exactly my situation as well. I start my 1.5 hour ride to work at 5:30AM on the MA Pike. One other issue are limited sizes in the store.

A heated jacked is nice but my hands get cold before anything else. That said, what are the plans for those going with the battery option?

I've thought about it. But I think you need back up in case of failure.

Yes but you will need an adapter cable. The heated gear uses a coax connector and the battery pigtail is a SAE connector. I tape the adapter connector to the loner connector with electrical tape. Then I'm sure the adapter cable is always attached to the liner and I can ride any bike/scooter in my stable and know the heated liner is good to good. I use this: https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/...x-jack-adapter
