This is how I haul. Quality soft ties, ratchet straps and endless loop ratchet straps only.
Put Security into transport mode
Transmission in neutral while towing.
Do not put a cover on bike as it will wear the paint off as it flaps in the wind.
Soft tie around lower triple tree pulling slightly forward and out. Make sure it’s under all wires and lines.
Soft tie around crash bar and frame down tube pulling down out to the side. Make sure it is under all wires and lines.
Endless loop ratchet strap from rear crash bar down and outward. If no crash bar use rear foot peg bracket or frame even better.
Do not compress the suspension more than half way to avoid the possibility of blowing a seal if you hit a hard bump.
Check straps at first 5, 25 miles then every fuel stop or stop.
