Default Gerbing Pro Heated Pants

Anyone use them and what do you think? I ride all year even down to the teens and have always used heated jacket liner and gloves. Thinking about shedding the long johns and chaps and just using these with jeans in winter riding.

I have them along with jacket liner, outer jacket, 3 pairs of gloves and socks. Yeah, I like being warm.

Yes I have the pants and a jacket liner and gloves. My gloves are just two years old, but the pants and jacket liner were purchased in 2009 and still working great. I actually never put them on last year and rode all winter including 9 days over Christmas and new years from NC to Florida and back. I have found some GREAT technical base and mid layers, textile jackets, the right winter socks and gloves. I actually perfer not to plug in but there are times it cannot be beat. It's all about the layers.

Brands to look at for non-12 volt stuff are Klim, Rev-It, Dainese (wife loves this), Freeze Out, and Alpine Stars. I shop for most through Revzilla. I actually also wear a Under Armor fleece lined base layer that will make you sweat above 40 degrees if you are not rolling! Just food for thought.

If you don't mind pluging in the heated is the easiest way to go.

I have a pair of Gerbings heated pants but I rarely plug them in. I find that by just wearing them they keep my legs warm enough. If I plug them in they pull too much heat away from the gloves. The pants combined with soft lowers keep my legs just fine.

I use Gerbing pants, jacket and gloves. Under that I use underarmor long johns, and over an Aerostich Darian jacket and pants. Easily ride into the 30s. The controller goes to 10, but I've never needed mine higher than 6. And that's with frost out, and riding hours on the highways.

But it's gotta be cold. Once it starts warming up you'll definitely need to start shedding some gear.
