shifter spline removal
The toe part of my heal toe shifter just striped out, how do i replace the spline ?
I have taken the heel and the toe rods off but dont know how to get the spline out?
Any advice would be great. I ride a 2002 ultra classic elctra glide

Ever pressed a bearing out? Find a socket the same size as the spline and another that is just a bit larger than the shifter. Put the small one on one side and the larger on the other. Use C-clamp press the smaller socket (and spline) through the insert in the shifter, it will pop the spline into the larger socket. If I read you post right this should do the trick. Use the same set up to insert the new spline. TIP-press it in with a thin film of silacone(sp) caulk to prevent corrosion (dissimilar metal theory).

If you are talking about the shaft,take the lever off between the motor and the inner primarycover,the shaft pulls out.splines in the shift levers? time for new levers.
