Default Ear Plug brand

What brand and type of ear plugs do you use?
How effective are they?

When I worked in the mill, the company paid for us to have custom made molded ear plugs if we wanted them so that is what I primarily wore. Other than that, I've used different styles of foam ear plugs and they are cheaper and work great, at least for me they do.

Alpine moto safe on Amazon...20 bucks. Nice thing is you can still hear your pipes and traffic noise but it blocks out the wind noise. Race version blocks more noise...i don't ride without them now

Those look just like the foam ones that I some times wear while riding and also when shooting. They work great and don't cost much.

The rubber (not the foam!!) ones at Walmart have worked perfectly for me for years. I can use one pair for around 4 to 6 months if I clean them every couple of weeks. They also don't hurt my ears like those foam ones do. I've tried expensive rubber-type plugs and they didn't last as long as the wally world ones and they did no better at stopping any noise.

No matter what you get, there's going to be wind noise, but I've been using this type since '09 with a try at something different once in a while in there, and I'll never waste my money again on anything else than these walmart ones. They're relatively cheap, you get two pair per box, they last and they just work.

I use the Howard-Leight foam earplugs as well. They have a 32 dB noise reduction rating, and the best part is I get 'em free at work

I always forget to wear plugs and I pay for it at the end of the day. I don't think it really matters what kind you use as long a you are using something. I'm going to get a bunch to keep in the bike and wear something from now on...Matter of fact I'm ordering some from Amazon right now.
