Thanks for all of the information. One guy mentioned the idea of riding other makes to a HOG ride - I get it, but my significant other rides her Indian more often than she rides on the back of my Harley. Not sure it that would be frowned upon.
That depends on the individual chapter and the sponsoring dealer. Certainly something to ask about when you are checking out chapters.
I believe if you are a Life member of HOG and buy another brand of bike you are still a HOG member and can ride your Indian/Yamaha etc. But you have to have a Harley to join HOG in the first place. After all it is for Harley Owners.
I say get involved. HOG chapters have different personalities depending on who is Director and other officers. If you get involved you can make a difference. For 2020 I will be Ladies of Harley Officer, in the past I have been Secretary and also Activities Officer. Don't like the short rides, run for Activities Officer. Become a Road Captain is also a good way to be involved.
Our chapter rides twice at the weekend, has some midweek events, does a lot for charity too. Great group of people
