I like to drive around aimlessly - go left here, go right there, change my mind and turn around and go the other way, drive slow, be alone on the road. Much easier to do when not on the Highway.

I prefer the highway when I want to feel the wind and enjoy the sound of a well tuned machine huming. I am relaxed on interstate 40 and 95and enjoy riding it. My bike doent have its wind shield on it. Also the MSF instructor said that the interstate is where the least amount of motorcycle accidents happen. City driving is where the most accidents happen. There are less destractions on the interestate.

Choppy and boring for me too. Plus watching out for idiots going 75mph+ who are not watching out for me is a little nerve racking. It's just a means to an end.

Don't mindthe highways away from the city, but anyone who has every drive the Atlanta 500 (aka I-285) will tell you it's no place for a bike during rush hour.

For myself, the highway is just dull. I prefer the twisties, where the fun is found. Droning along in a straight line for more than 10 minutes seems pointless, when there are snaky roads leading to the same place. I'll always choose the curvy route, even (especially!) if it's longer.

Around here the highways are crap and dangerous. Missing lane lines, confusing lines, potholes that haven't been repared in years, grading lines 1" deap, and so on.
Same here in PA, I80 is a real mess. Not to mention there are more tractor trailers than cars. I never ride the Interstates. I will go on the single lane state highways if I need to but prefer the back roads when ever I can.
I have no need for speed, posted limit is 65 everyone going 75 and a few a-holes going 85. The interstates are just to dangerous.

For the most part, I find the Interstate boring. It's a great way to make time if I have a long way to go, but I prefer the smaller highways when time permits.

to boring , I'll allow for longer traveling time just so I can use the smaller secondary highways to get where i'm going. Always a lot more to see

We have great highways where I live. I have a detachable windshield for that very reason. It would not be much fun without the windshield. I found it very uncomfortable riding any distances without a windshield. The windshieldmakes a night and day difference. Besides the highway is the only place I ever use 6th gear and even then I have to be slightly speeding or it lags.
