Back and forth,,,,to work,,,,therapy,,,,the OL been down for 10weeks,,,,if it wasn't for the bike ride between workwork and homework,,,,I'd have to kill something.....
I find when I am riding that it is impossible to think deep philosophical thoughts and impossible to think about worries and cares. All you think about is the machine, the road, the traffic, the sound, you are totally immersed in the riding of the machine. I wonder if any riders (serious riders, not bar to bar hops) ever need psychotherapy? I bet not...
Eric, sorry about hard times, keep your chin up. I agree whole heartedly, when I ride it makes dealing with life much easier. The old saying about "You never see a Harley parked at a shrink's office unless it's the doctors" comes to mind. Michigan economy sucks for sure, (thanks Jenny!). Hope better times are around the corner.
A Harley is good therapy and that's why I ride mine to and from work. Going to work sucks, being at work sucks and at the end of a suck filled day, I get to sit in sucky traffic but as soon as I clear the city and I can get off the highway, I love to ride the back country roads. They're safer and all around more enjoyable. My OM says that I'm much more pleasant when I get home from work on the Bike then I am when I'm stuck in my car.
Yeah- and the Harley doesn't kill your sex drive! (Ask me how I know... [8D] )
Lots of times when I'm riding home from work the 20 minute ride home turns into a 2 hour stress relieving jaunt down some back country road.
Turn off the radio, listen to the sound of the engine, feel the vibes, smell the fresh air...
Yes, I always feel better after a nice ride.

I rode to work today, got out for a little therapy with a couple of buddies at lunch. When we stopped for lunch my wife called and said "there is an inch of water in the basement" normally this would be a bad thing right. Not today, just another excuse to ride home, call a plumber, get it fixed, ride back to the office and in about 2 minutes,I am out of here for the weekend and another ride.
