These REAX 215 jeans (made by Rokker) are great. I have the knee and hip armor and I wear them the most. Comfortable and they look like regular jeans which I like. Highly recommend them and the price is not bad.

If it is cold I wear the First Manufacturing leather pants. No armor but they are very thick and sturdy.

Klim Lattitude gear. I will wear jeans if just messing around a few miles from the house, but most of the time Klim all the way.

This time around I went with a pair of these from Klim. Much cooler in the summer than my old pair!

I wear Aerostitch pants as well.
Yea, I linked to the wrong website as apparently there are two different companies. I bought the US company ones that are linked here. Love them (and I wear them when I'm not riding as well).

I ride AGAT. I have the 3 season jacket, so it strips down to mesh in the summer. Which is good till you stop. But at least it keeps the sun off of your arms.
When the temps are approaching high 80's, I'm in jeans, but still mesh jacket, boots, gloves, and full face.
The pair of kevlar jeans I got don't have the "itch" problem you mentioned. Maybe they have a newer kevlar material to use as a liner, which eliminates that issue. Not sure. I just know the pair I have are comfortable, and no itch problem. The ONLY complaint I have with them is that the "pocket" for the knee armor seems to be "twisted" or "shifted" to the side a little, and the armor doesn't fit directly over my knee cap, but slightly to the side/inside. However, that just could be the brand that I tried. The Fieldsheer overpants I got have the armor perfectly positioned over my knees, and the inner quilted liner can be removed for those warmer days, so shouldn't be bad.

These are made in the southeast US and are great for riding, they'll make your custom size too!

For the prices some of these Kevlar jeans are goin' for, I could have a pair of thick leather pants custom made to fit my 6'-6" x 280 lb. self. I've clicked on every link you guys have posted and most of 'em don't go beyond a 38" waist, and none of 'em got anywhere near my 36" inseam. The only ones that I could put on without having liposuction surgery first are these that JakeC7R posted a link to. I'd still have to add 2" or more to the hems, which I've done before and it worked fine, but almost $300 bucks for a pair of jeans? I'll pass. I'm already in danger of passing out due to the heat down here in Dixie when I'm goin' sleeveless with some brand or another of regular ol' jeans during the Summer. I'll never wear shorts or flip flops or whatever, but I do wear regular jeans without fearing for my life.

See, I'm of the belief that it's ridiculous to plan on sliding down the highway. It's like saying, "I'll bet you $300 bucks I will fall down before it's all said and done!" I'm not bragging and not saying it can never happen, but I've been riding each and every year for the last 45 years and never been down. Been close, but always managed to stop or avoid a crash by steering around it.

If I believed those of you who say something to the effect of, "There's two kinds of riders; those who have been down and those who will go down," I'd hang it up and just ride my couch until I die. There's always a chance and I know that, but until I simply can't avoid a crash, I will always be trying. I will never say I'm going to crash sooner or later, because after 45 years of avoiding crashes, and the fact that I turn 65 tomorrow, I'd be tempting fate that it would sooner because I don't have that much later left! LOL

Riding a motorcycle is dangerous so if you're going to ride you need to accept the risk. I also know it's possible that I could fall out of bed, break my neck and become paralyzed yet I don't sleep with a neck brace on.

Are kevlar riding jeans really that good and doing what they state? Do you wear riding jeans or just standard Wrangler/Levies??
I also came from Sport Bikes and they still turn my head when I hear one coming. I've always wanted a Repsol edition and if I ever come across one at the right price I've gotta have it.
Anyway back to your question; I dont wear kevlar jean with my padded jacket, 3/4 with often my full face helmet but I do wear FR (Fire Retardant) Jean's with my gear. I used to wear them for work when I worked in the Oil fields and they are double thick and warm as all get out.

I know from experience that cotton jeans won't provide much protection if you get off the bike at highway speed. And I know from experience that road rash is painful and for us older guys, takes a long time to heal. Bad cases of it may require skin grafting. So what to wear? How do you know that the protective clothing really will prevent or lessen injury?

I know that leather has been "tested" many times over the years in actual spills so I stick with the old-school protective clothing. I ride with a leather jacket and leather over-pants. Hot, heavy, and cumbersome yes. But I'm older and more experienced now and should be smarter. Unlike when I was younger, I now see value in risk mitigation. ATGATT for me.
