My HD dealer service writers and mechanics have been good to me on the several occasions I have needed them. I always stop by to say Hi when I go to the dealer for parts etc. Keeping a good relationship with them and the parts guys is fun for me. By maintaining that relationship, they are more willing to help me when I'm needed. It's a relatively big dealership and they have two of them, but it is owned by a family from here in Indiana with a farming background. The sales guys come and go but the service and parts guys have been there a long time and seem committed to their jobs.

I'm not sure what state you are in and what their inspection laws are but in NC if an inspection/tag is due in december and you get it done in november, it still says december, if you get it done in January, feb, march, whatever it still goes back to when it was originally due. You being late or early doesn't change that. My bike is due this april, I can get ahead of the game and get it done early, it will still be due next april, or if I'm late it will still be due next april. Hope that makes sense.

I've gained some confidence back in the service advisors (S/A) at my dealership. The former s/a really pressured the customers, s/a job is to induct work, remind customers of upcoming work, and upsell servces, it's their job , some do this better than others. I go in knowing work is coming up that I can do, and I politely say to thanks for letting me know, I'll keep it in mind. I used to work at an auto dealership in the service drive, developed a trusting rapport with the customers, up to the point of the customers were purchasing vehicles. But I digress. I would ask the service manager why they didn't honor the deal they made in 2019 and your bike's R.O. is dated in 2019 or in the previous year of the agreement. Was the deal made by the previous employees? Was it in writing or verbal?

One last tid bit of advice, sometimes it gets rough in here, don't let it get to you. There is some good advice and some advice comes from, well I think you figured that out.

I have never had a bad experience at the service department at my local dealer. However, there have been a few times that I knew a lot more about bikes than the service writer. With the oil boom here, they do have a fairly high turnover rate there.

Took my bike there once with a problem. They called me the next day and said everything was normal. Never been to a dealer shop since.

relentless salesmen get the most sales .
matters not if bikes, parts 'n service, vacuum sweepers or Fuller Brush man

It's likely they have weekly staff meetings with part of the focus on "get out there and sell M'fkrs SELL!"

BUTT...A bad attitude from a salesman that doesn't close a sale with you, suggests a poor salesman ...and likely will be replaced sooner or later (unless he's killin' it in $ales) then that would suggest the custy got butthurt over nothing

Telling me lies, pi55es me the f'off though.
I'm pretty easy going and very forgiving of screw-ups (one who has much to be forgiven, forgives much)
But knowingly lie to me?...you're done

Paragraphs is what needs to be the sticky.
No one's busting your ***** for not knowing proper writing .
the problem is, it's simply hard as hell to read a wall of text ....it ain't about lack of "periods"

Just mash the enter/return key a couple times between thoughts is all that's needed.
Kind of like I did ...it ain't proper according to the english teacher ...but it's readable and understandable.
...and that's all 94.777% of us GAF about
