I would guess that 90% of my riding is city and twisties. Yesterday, I hit the "slab" for 120 miles and was cruising at 80mph for most of the way. With no fairing, neck and arms get a bit tired from the wind buffeting.

I ride the Interstates a lot. Whether getting to an area that I want to ride in or taking a trip. There are parts of interstates that I totally avoid such as I-85 through Atlanta, and I-95 in northern NC into Virginia up to DC.

We ridden I-40 a dozen times from NC to AR. I-77, I-26 & I-95 to Florida at least a dozen times. I-20 across LA, MS, AL and GA. I-81 several times North to PA. I-77 North into Ohio and many others.

I worked on I88 on a 60 day accrued leave from the Army. Yonkers construction hired me as a heavy equipment operator/ lowboy driver- had to join the Operating Engineers Union.Rode up on my 76' FXE to the field trailer at the yard ,showed them my leave orders, military drivers license with everything I was qualified on. Hired me on the spot.Chased those coeds from Cobleskill. Great pay.Hard work. Long days.Fun times.

I don't avoid any particular type of roadway. There are stretches of highway I don't like riding on simply because of congestion and safety issues but not because I dislike the style of road in and of itself. I don't find highways any more boring or mundane than riding around town from light to light. And obviously county roads, mountain roads etc are much more enjoyable in terms of scenery but these are few and far between. I don't really pick and choose a lot. Whatever is there I will ride it unless I feel the roadway is unsafe for some reason.

Interstates are for getting from one place to the next in the least amount of time. Does not matter if the speed limit is 55, 65, or 75. They serve their purpose and are there to give everyone a choice. If I`m running short on time I will use them.

Love the super slab, safest place to ride. Two lane country roads are nice but too many hidden driveways, crossroads and around here, deer.

I live on the east coast, 3 miles from the ocean. That means I loose about 180 degrees of direction I can go. If I want to ride new roads that I have never been on that means getting on the super slab and ride for an hour or so, usually longer, for a day ride. I don't mind the slab though. I get to ride around 75 mph so that fills my need for speed.
