I’m using the Hero7 Black. I just received my RickRak mount. Haven’t used it yet but it’s looks like it will work real well

GoPro 5 Hero Black

I have a very solid handle bar mount off Amazon. Cannot remember the brand. Works well shooting through my clear windshield. Personally I am not going to mount on the fairing. Everything is plastic and I don't want to break something or mess up paint.

Here are a few pictures shot through mine.

The following pictures have the camera turned back toward me.

You can see the mount from this picture on the left side of the bar. I have my phone mount on the right side.

Either a suction cup mount or what I think they call a tripod mount. It is basically a base with a threaded insert that I put in place of the center screw of the windshield trim, you will need a longer screw.....

I use a Hero 7.

I use this mount. I use this mount.

If I had to do it over again, I would not waste my money. I thought it would be cool to take pics and video of my riding. The idea was better in theory. The only thing I have are long *** boring videos.

I plan on putting the INOVV K2 dual channel system on my bike. Video quality is excellent. They run at night. When the bike is on, the camera is on. They are powered by the bike and not a worthless battery that lasts 45 minutes. You can connect to it via an app on your phone. You don't have to dick around with memory sticks and charging. They are fairly sleek and stealthy so they won't be an obvious target for thieves. You get the same GPS technology.

If you're dead set on a Hero, hit me up and I'll consider an offer. I'd say it's worthless to me, but I know it's worth something to someone else, so I'll get what I can for it.

I've got to agree with you. After $500 and the same complaints about batteries and storage I wouldn't do it again.

GoPro Hero7 Black
very pleased with the video quality & stabilization.

I have tall bars so I use this mount on the handlebar
Rickrak mount

X~PWR-H5 All-Weather External Power Kit for GoPro HERO5, HERO6, HERO7
this external power kit mounts to the GoPro cage that holds the camera via 3M tape or similar. I bought an extra cage and Gorilla Glued the external mount to the cage. One cage for battery use, one for external power use.
Amazon Amazon

Windsock

very please with the performance/wind elimination

If you are running with the windsock & using the external power source, remove/do not use the GoPro with the battery installed as it tends to heat up/overheat and can lock the camera up until a safe operating temperature returns.

I put a dashcam in the car this winter and would like one for the bike soon too. Sure we'll get hours of boring video but it would be good to go back and just collect some still shots for the album. But the main reason I like these cams is the piece of mind we'd have if ever in a court case argument "who was at fault". Think I'll look at the cameras that have a rear facing lense as well. It really is getting bad out there at times.
