Well just saw part of a news conference with the sheriff. What he said was to use common sense. He mentioned recreation is an essential activity and that you are ok to travel to the boat ramp or golf course or whatever.
He did add they are not playing games. I guess some local barber shop went out and bought some food items and was trying to pass themselves off as not only a barber shop but a convenience store as well. Didn't work. Guess the toilet paper run excuse 3 counties might not work lol.
Wood County, WI aint playing. I rode my bike to town today to buy 2 stroke oil for my STIHL blowers, and traffic was about normal, though. Travel must be restricted to travel to the essential business where you work or for an essential reason. Essential reasons include shopping for food (including pet food), medical supplies, prescriptions and other necessities. Getting essentials should be happening once per week, by one person in your household. If you are a single-parent household, do your best to plan ahead to limit the trips you must take with your children, the release adds.
Failure to abide by the Governors order is a criminal offense under §252.25 of the Wisconsin Statutes. Law enforcement will investigate any observed or reported violations of the order. In cases where persons do not comply with the order, law enforcement has the option of issuing a citation under a Wood County ordinance, which carries a forfeiture of $200.50. For serious or continued violations, a criminal arrest can be made under the above state statute. https://www.newsbreakapp.com/n/0OdPZ...=04ZmMX7k&s=i0
PA is on lockdown but they seem to be reasonable about it.
I talked to a police friend of mine to ask him about riding during the lockdown. He said it's fine and allowed as its considered recreation and isolating on its own. He actually told me the cops are being told NOT to pull anyone over for anything other than extreme traffic violations which would endanger public safety. They want to minimize risk to the officers as well so no minor pullovers. In other words the PA cops will leave bikers alone as long as they aren't running like twice the speed limit or something stupid.
Some people just cant seem to not congregate in groups even while riding. Dont stop at the park and congregate at the picnic tables so you can discuss face to face how you are all following the spirit of the law by socially distancing yourselves. You are failing, big time. Ride alone, or if you just have to group up put space between the riders, and for ****s sake dont stop at some biker bar to hang out.
I just rode 50 miles on the sporty, alone on country roads. Only stopped at lights and stop signs.
Here in upstate NY Im still getting mixed messages. Im really hoping to get the bike out for a short ride or two in the coming days, but Im not sure. On the one hand they tell me get outside for recreation and fresh air, just stay isolated. On the other hand Im told no unnecessary travel.
I'm fixing to call the local sheriff's office to try and clear up the mixed messages I'm seeing in the media. They are saying it's fine to go out and walk, run, bike ride, hike or even take your boat out because the ramps are open. But I just read a guidline from the sheriff where they don't want you out if you don't absolutely have to be.
Why can't I ride as long as I stay away from others if people can take their boats out?
Why alert the sheriff's office to what you're doing. IMO it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission. Just sayin'
By the way Uncle G, are we close? I'm in the
Cuse. We could meet up and become the Covid-19 Scofflaws - NYS Chapter.

AZ sounds similar & let me tell you I-10 has been a virtual racetrack this week. I was on my SV1000S doing 97 mph & people were passing me. Wide open like I've never seen it. I'm a healthcare worker so no rest for the wicked. But that's fine I'd probably strangle my wife if I were home for a solid month.
