I participate in the Big Brothers, Big Sisters mentoring program and have been thinking about taking my little out for a ride on the scoot. I would like to get him a DOT half or 3/4 helmet, but don't want to spend a fortune doing it, since he'll inevitably grow out of it, and there's not guarantee he will stay in the BBBS program for years to come. Can anyone recommend a good helmet at a great price that would fit a preteen?

We got our kids helmets for Christmas last year so they could ride with us.
They're AFX full-face helmets, and they cost us about $79 each. Three-quarter or half helmets would probably be a bit cheaper, depending on where you get them.
