HD may not even be in business next year. We are witnessing history unfold in front of our eyes today....unreal what is happening in oil markets. I think it was 2010 when Suzuki brought NO bikes to the US, they just rebadged some vins of stuff they had in warehouses here in the States.

Wasn't that the year they also paired up with Kawasaki on some of their models? The exact same bike; one green, the other blue.

The only thing I could see being delayed are the totally new bikes like the Pan America and the Bronx since they are totally new and would require major changes to the production lines. (although Harley was probably making those changes already)
well this is the ideal time to switch over the lines that were going to switch.

Harley told my dealer that they focus on the Pan America and the Lifewire after startup. They expect to compete with BMW here in Europe with the Pan America

Not uncommon in the Automotive industry for production lines to shut down for a couple weeks in the summer, all the workers get a vacation except for the technicians setting up the new years product line.

This article about the 2021 automobiles is almost a month old, but it's still valid. No one knows what is going to happen yet, but it won't be good.

Mid July was the change over when I worked at the shop
but not all of them get shut down
We didn't (Chrysler Twinsburg Stamping) we made lots of sheetmetal parts in press room and assembly side made doors, floorpans and other sub assemblies

no one got laid off, as all the dies and tooling were already made and ready to go into lines
The "change over" was little to nothing more than any routine die swap on a press line.
an hour on the small punch presses and maybe a half a day on the big press lines

same for assembly ..rarely were things "so different" that adjustments to locating pins, spotweld heads or robots took more than a day on the "big" lines ("big" meaning 30-60+ production line workers)

If not mistaken, we also did inventory at the same time and some years brought in temp workers to help w/manpower

one thermometer of what would happen regarding MY-2021 is the release of the color chart, which usually happens this time of the year....since I haven't heard anything....let's ask if anyone knows anything about the color chart....
