I would send it back. If you have ever cut your hand on peeling chrome plating you know it is painful. The metal wasn't clean enough when the part went into the tank so it could peel anywhere.

I have ordered 3 sets of mufflers all from DK. The 1st set was missing the screws to hold in the baffle and had light scratches. I sent them back. I ordered a second set which is a different brand and they was covered in light scuffs and scratches. I set them back. This is the third set and again a different set of mufflers.
