What's the rule....
...when coming up on another rider?
I always try to ride staggered if I come up behind someone, but it doesn't seem like they know what I'm doing....or, even care.
I was wondering if I'm supposed to do that, or is the general riding public ignorant on how to ride with a group or even just 2 bikes?

That was my thinking as well. Just seems like everyone I ride up on doesn't get what I'm doing.

The first one moved to the left side of the lane as soon as he saw me in the mirror.
The second guy just followed me inline regardless of where I was in the lane.

I wouldn't trust that the person in front of me even knows about group riding. Give them plenty of space and let them go...JMHO.
Or if you do know them - be really sneaky - get behind then and "HONK" your horn.....

The only rule is ... make yourself visible. ..not much different than if your in a car. If you decide to follow, keep your distance andmake yourself seen. If you decide to pass, pass like you would in your car. Signal, pull out, pass, and be gone....And, another thing ...for you hotshots out there!Don't think that you need to crack your throttle just as you pass by ... I don't wear ear plugs and it hurts my ears and doesn't 'impress' me one eensy weensy little bit!
