So my friend read in a magazine that Denver Colorado (and later heard the entire State of Colorado) is coming down hard on loud pipes. Another friend chimed in that he'd heard the same in that the LEO's will set up sound test equipment and have ya rap yer motor while they listen...$500. fine for noise above a certain deciple level that all bikes are sure to reach without stock mufflers. So whats up with that, do we Californians need to avoid Colorado altogether when heading to and returning from Sturgis South Dakota ?People in my group are all freaked out!
According to the AMA, they are also looking for EPA noise certification stamps on mufflers. No stamp= ticket, until you show you've corrected the problem. My SEIIs are clearly stamped, "Not For Road Use," so I better stay out of CO.
Here's the rub. For every vehicle EXCEPT motorcycles, the officer must use sound measuring equipment, and base the ticket on those results. For bikes, they simply use their judgement, and look for the EPA stamp. No stamp = ticket. end of story.

Long Beach, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Cheyenne, Sturgis. You never even hit Colorado. Why worry?
If the Californian's would not of moved to Colorado, this would have never happened.....!!
(No offense for those who still live in California)
If the Kalifornian's would stay where they are, we all would be better off without their lame brained laws and lefty liberal politics. There are some nice Californian'sof course especially the one's on this forum.
