There you go, putting a damper on the last 3 weeks of summer by talking about cold weather!

Seriously, heated gloves can extend your riding comfort greatly when the cold arrives. My riding season is much like yours, April-October, so I don't need much. I have a pair of HD warm weather gloves that usually do the trick. When a bit more is needed, I have a pair of heated glove liners that I have used a few times with good results.

rufasim, I don't know how old you are now, but as you age, the cold will get to you more in your bones. So, the money spent on heated gear will help you in those later years. Even in Boston you get days in November when you can ride, and the heated gloves and jacket will help keep you warm. Heck, you spent more on mufflers than you would on a jacket and gloves. Spend that coin on something FUNCTIONAL for the first time! LOL!!

I wear very loose gloves with very thin liners, tight gloves does not allow good blood circulation and poor circulation does not help in keeping warm.

I don't know who told you that heated grips "don't work that well", but they were totally wrong!! I have heated grips, and they work great!

Your info says "Boston", so that means real winter.

However, you left out the most important piece of information, and that is how long are your intended rides? If it's a 20-minute commute, then there are many options. If it's all-day touring, then the list gets a lot shorter.

KLIM makes a great motorcycle glove that has a dual inside liner. One side is the extra warm side, and the other has a thinner palm for more dexterity. I've had a pair for several years, and they are the best cold-weather, non-heated gloves I have.

If you do long rides during the winter, however, no motorcycle glove will keep your fingers warm. As was stated above, go to the nearest ski shop or snowmobile shop or ice fishing shop, and get something there. It will be a lot warmer. Keep in mind, the warmer the glove, the thicker the glove, and the harder it gets to hold a motorcycle grip.

Or, do the best thing and get heated gloves.

This. Living in the frozen wastelands of canaduh, these items, along with heavy leathers, proper undergarments, and socks, extends my season by a couple of months at least.

Cheers!

I like heated grips because I don't need to wear as thick gloves.

I also wear a heated vest,
The warm blood from your core really helps with your extremities too.
