Heated grips are great for cool mornings, when it drops into the low 30's or lower, they are useless. Heated gloves will keep your hands warm all the way to teens.

I've not tried heated gloves. I ride in winter. It's the tips of my fingers that get painful. Heated grips don't fix that for me. Do you find heated gloves heat the finger tips up to stop or slow this?

Heated gloves make a huge difference. You can, literally, put burns on your hands if you turn them all the way up and leave them there.

I have a pair of the old Army wool glove liners that I wear under my gauntlets, when it gets too cold for that I wear snow mobile/ski type gloves. Carhartt has some decent insulated gloves as well.

I have used heated gear for the cold months of riding and this particular brand for many years. It works well and has been reliable. They apparently make "First Gear" heated gear sold at many Honda Dealers.

I too have heated grips and the backs of my hands and fingers always cold. I am 55 year old and have been riding into the colder months now for the last 15 years. The cold is getting tougher to ride in as I age.

The best combo is heated grips and heated gloves. This is my setup. My hands are NEVER cold even below freezing at highway speeds.

Cheers!

Agreed.
My desire to ride far is seriously diminished below 35 degrees.

Anyone now of a good pair of gloves for colder weather that the palms aren't so thick? The backs of my hands and fingers are the only thing that get cold. My palms usually warm enough. I do have heated grips but they don't really work that well. Not sure I want to spend the money on heated gear because the bike is put away from early November till late March/early April. Any help is appreciated
An alternative solution for you.....

I have Gerbings heated gloves and they are great, but they are kind of bulky and lack "feel" as per your comment above.

I bought a pair of Warm 'n Safe heated glove liners. They are very thin, but heated all around the fronts and back of the hands. Then I coupled them with a pair of uninsulated GoreTex riding gloves that were also pretty thin. So I ended up with fully waterproof, heated winter gloves but without the bulk. This works for me even in very cold weather. An added benefit is that the air between the heated glove liners and the GoreTex outer gloves works as an insulator, so they are just as warm as my Gerbings gloves, but with much more feel for the bars.
