got family out this way, but not too close, lol

I've been looking on craigslist here and the bay area, prices for a trailer are significantly higher on the coast

If you are going to buy a trailer I would buy it there and haul the bikes back. That way you only have bad gas mileage one way. Might be cheaper to fly out twice to ride them back.

I got my new forum name! Thanks Mr. Wizard, I guess I shouldn't have used a place name for a forum handle, Vallejo Don, and thank you all for not abbreviatting it ! Lol.

I can get a trailer around Springfield/Lebanon for around 2 grand, used of course.

I have searched craigslist in the Bay area, and they are 3to4 grand for a used 12x6.

My truck doesn't really mind when I aim towing a smaller load like a couple of bikes, I averaged 16 compared to 18mpg,

The missus and I are almost finished unpacking,
I got an interesting text message from uhaul this afternoon, they are offering to deduct about one third of the rental price of the truck I reserved,,,
providing I am willing to pick up a uhaul trailer in Hayward California and drop it in Springdale Arkansas?

I have no other details about this text message, out of curiosity I did ask them to go ahead and contact me with the details.

I looked up the directions and I would take I40, but, hey, 787$ off the rental price, a good chunk of change....

if the text message was legitimate I'm wondering what kind of liability risks they are taking?
I'll keep you posted on my first world problem!

I reached out to the motorcycle shipping company I had originally contracted with, email and by phone, they have never responded, I was willing to give them a second chance for a different pickup.
I looked around and found a 14x7 trailer to rent for 350$ a week, I'm picking it up tomorrow and heading west into the smoke and heat of California,
I appreciate all the advice and tips on my moving adventure, settling in nicely in Missouri and already getting a great vibe from our neighbors,
Guy across the road has a 00 super glide with 3,000 miles, older fellow, he says the young bucks ride too fast for him,
when I get back I'll see if I can get him out and about for a putt up around Bennett Springs, and grab a milkshake somewhere,
wish me luck!

Well, I left my new home Monday last, the eighth of September and stopped in Granview Missouri to pick up a trailer,

I hit the road and got to my friends home in the San Francisco Bay Area on Thursday evening, it's like all of the west coast is burning, I took a day of rest and helped my buddy install a new exhaust on his Dyna, we loaded up my bikes and I got the heck out of dodge!

I was driving alone, so the round trip went much quicker than the move with my Wife and our belongings.
And 2 dogs

I left Vallejo on Saturday morning and I pulled into the driveway of our Home on Monday evening,

4,000 miles in less than 6 days, I got to take my first ride with my Wife yesterday on our street glide, we roamed around for about 150 miles and enjoyed a great dinner together,

Today I got to take my Fat Bob up to Camdenton and check out the events around Lake of the Ozarks,
Yes, it was worth the drive to California and back.

Nice to see all the bikes up there, I stuck around until the big wheel baggers showed up,

Not my style, but they sure put a lot of time and money into their thing,,

I'm thinking about heading up there again early this afternoon,, burn off the rest of this California gas.
