Breaking Billy Lane News - Civil Case Settlement Reached
idiotic statement "get the FACK out". My old man was in Pearl Harbor the day it was bombed pal.
Served on the Raliegh. Born and raised in Asheville NC with roots that go back to the
Cherokee Indians. So I think I'll keep my opinion as well as others and stick around.

You are right I should not have told him to get the F*** out because Ifeelone of the biggest freedoms this country has to offer is freedom of speech and he was just voicinghisopionion. I guess I was just doing a little word play on his cheesy "fack em" statement.

First off, I wasnt talking to you.
share your opinion by telling them to get the Fak out.
But let's put this to rest, and thank you for the service to our country
I'm arguing that its a real reach to blame DC for what happened.
I'm saying our society has become way too sue happy, and its ONE of the things thats tearing apart the fibers of our country.
I'm saying, in the U.S.A. it SHOULDN'T be legal to sue DC in THIS situation.
Besides,
Do you really believe, in this day and age, when everyone is so sue happy, that the worldwide, multi billion dollar corporation Daimler/ Chrysler, who has bands of attorneys working for them 24 hrs a day to cover there azzes, do you really believe they just tossed BL the keys to that truck and told him "there ya go bud, have fun"? You seriously believe that BL didn't sign legal papers which stated he was only allowed to drive the vehicle in a legal fashion? Hell, he probably had to sign papers that expressly stated he wasn't allowed to operate the vehicle while under the influence.
And Storm 4 U, I am sorry you interpreted what I said as being directed at you. To clarify, it was a response directed ONLY to the person who told me that I should get out.
So to recap in short.
I don't care what the legal grounds are for this family to be suing DC because a drunk killed another drunk.
I'm saying its not RIGHT.
Gerry Morelock's BAC as measured at the autopsy was .133. If you would like to get the whole story on the accident, you check this page on my site. We're the only real motorcycle pub that's following the case.
Mike
Too many lawyers, not enough common sense.
No amount of money is gonna bring these people back. And no amount of money is gonna change what a company does.
So what is the point of these huge lawsuits?
All the opinions and flaming going on here is astounding. I have to admit that I donât know all of the facts, and I canât get to the brainbucket articles at work (pc police), and at home the squirrels canât turn the wheel fast enough to get a download before it times out. From what I have picked up here on the forum, BL was drunk. Thatâs fact. BL was at fault in the accident and killed a man. Another fact. D/C tossed the keys of a truck to a known alcoholic for publicity. Thatâs a fact. They SHOULD share in the liability in a civil suit.
Do the dead manâs kin have a ârightâ to sue⌠definitely. They were wronged by the actions of another individual. Itâs no different that the Goldman family suing OJ for killing their son. Will the judgment bring the dead back to life?? No. Itâs an attempt to compensate the family for their loss, and punish the guilty.
My opinion of BL (having never met him), is that he is an egotistical POS. He thinks his sheit donât stink. He may be able to build a bike, but that is all. That certainly does NOT put him into an elite status that is above the law. He took a life BY HIS OWN ACTIONS. He will have expensive lawyers to help him get out of this, which is a shame. There should be a MANDITORY jail time for this offence. NO plea bargain, and NO reduced sentence. You drink, drive, and kill⌠15 years⌠close the cell door.
As for taking up donations for soap on a rope.. Iâm sure someone will. You wouldnât get a penny from me. After he gets his front teeth knocked out, I wouldnât give a penny for his bridgework. [sm=owned.gif]
they went after the dodge dealer simply because they do have deeper pockets then Poor Old Billy
Poor billy did indeed screw up and it is not just simply a accident, he did knowingly get in and drive while Drunk,,and I do not what to hear he didn't know he was drunk, but then we all know that when we are drunk, we all know we do stupid things when we are drunk..would I buy a bike from Billy, no never would have anyway..it was a sad thing to have happen, but Billy was totally in the wrong on this one..will he do time?? I doubt it, but we must first wait and see if he is found guilty
Some of you seem to have gotten off tract with your talks, what in the world does who served in the service have to do with this talk?? nothing,,I suggest that some of you calm down a little. but then nobody listens to me anyway
