The other day I tried mounting my go pro knock off camera to my handle bars . Unlike with the genuine Go Pro ,the knock offs ($75) come with a zillion accessoeries .
I tried a combination of attachments ,and got the lens pointed ahead ,and turned it on to video. It did ok for about a minute, but the viberation, soon had the camera pointing at the fender./
Has anyone invented a way to attach one of these to a Harley sucsessfully ?
It depends on whether you want to record with sound. I'm kinda in the same boat. I just bought a 2012 electra glide ultra classic and I want to record with sound but not have any wind noise. I cannot for the love of me figure out how to mount my gopro behind the windshield. The knockoffs are not going to give you the sturdy support you are looking for.
I have recorded a lot of video with both real and knockoff GoPro cameras. It's all about the mounting. Get good mounts. Make sure it's tight and you should be good. I even have one on my helmet. If you want sound you'll need a mic and a dead cat to stop the wind noise.
I have an AKASO ,brave 4K camera with both still and video, that comes with loads of attachments, but by the time I connect several together to get the camera pointing straight ahead the amount of joints it takes is the cause of the slipping of the camera.
IO would mount it to my helmet ,but the stick on mounts are flat ,not curved like a helmet .
I have to take a few hours and hope for a light bulb to flash ,and show me a vision of what is needed.
So far I didn't even consider the sound , but yeah the wind will be a problem .
Well I'll just keep thinking on this .
Still hoping for someone to have figured it out .

This 100 percent. I have a gopro on the handlebar and a contour roam2 to the rear fender.
I bought the GoPro Jaws Flex Clamp a couple of months ago. I clamp it to my bars and to my engine and saddlebag guards. It's solid as a rock. Highly recommended.
I ended up selling the 7 and going for a permanently mounted dual camera system called the INNOVV K2...no muss, no fuss...but nothing near the video quality of the hero...works for me though
