I ride a 1997 softtail custom with a 80cu.in. Evo.
I was out riding for approximately 5 hours. Short stops
and visits in between. I heard a loud backfire then bike
stalled and won't restart. I removed the ignition module.
I also installed a Dyna S dual fire electronic ignition. I cleaned carburetor. I'm getting fuel. This is an electric issue. Is it possible to run without a ignition module? If yes, how do I wire it. If no, what do I do? Thanks to all that helps.

Mods should move this to the evo forum

Are you running a standard CPS in the cone? If so, pull the timing cover and look for signs it's melted (brownish goo running out).

Yep. Def a Fatboy. Good looking bike, actually. Looks well cared for.

Still think he's got a failed CPS, either way.

There's an ignition jamming device that triggers when the bike is mis-identified.
They all do that.
