Sounds like low rpm's and short shifting, know that's misleading though.
These bikes dont rev like sportbikes, I'd guess he is shifting around 6500 rpms and you better believe Mike is hitting his shift points!
Mike runs a Maxx ECU. It is a stand alone computer system that controls EVERYTHING on the bike. They even run a laser on the front wheel that retards the timing if the front wheel comes up to high then ramps it back in when it comes down. With that system they can monitor every millisecond of the run, exactly when he hits full throttle, when he shifts, literally every piece of information you could want. It is amazing.
Another interesting tidbit on shift points. My buddy rode for Star Racing in NHRA prostock class. They were contractually obligated to hit their shifts points within 100 rpms or they could be replaced!
