If you ride long distances an ill fitting helmet becomes tiring and painful. I love Bell, but they dont fit me well. Arai works for my (odd shaped?) noggin, I recently bought a Schubert C4 modular, a very quiet, but hot helmet.
I wont buy a helmet without fitting it first, and taking my time to ensure it fits properly, and hopefully there is a properly trained salesperson to assist you with this.
my 2c....
Different helmets are made for different shaped heads. You can't just measure the circumference and get a good fit for every person.
Most Arai and Schuberth helmets are a little too round for my head, although it looks like the Arai Signet-X and Defiant-X should be a good fit for me.
So I would say your head is more round and mine is more oval shaped. Neither one is odd shaped, they make different helmets to fit different heads.
Got my helmets today: Harley-branded 3/4 Bell, and Bell DLX Mips full helmet.
Both fit right in L size. 3/4 fits 100% perfectly.
Full face helmet fits good on head, and somewhat snug on cheeks - it seems exactly as others mentioned about tight fit in Bells cheek pads.
