"Last longer"?. What does that mean? Which bikes required more maintenance over their lifetime? Consumer Reports has Harley as second lowest reliability, BMW is lowest.
Interesting graph. I still own a 73 Kawasaki Z1 900 a 77 Kawasaki KZ650 B1 a 74 Yamaha RD350. All rideable but i dont tag them every year, only when i get the itch to ride one for a while.
I have trouble believing this graph. When I can for ALL motorcycles for sale in my local CL and Cycletrader there's noticeablly more older rice burners than Harleys, especially from the 70's and 80's.
I've owned a number of bikes and the HD by far is the least reliable. I can count on something major at least once a year. I've never had issues with the many BMW's and Ducati's owned over the years. HD is a great bike for cruising but I recently purchased a BMW K1600GTL Exclusive and there is no comparison to this and an Ultra. The technology, ride quality and power of a 6 cylinder engine is pretty incredible.
