^^^ When I look at a pic of the Pan America, I see a totally different bike than the R1250GS. Wherever the GS is big, the Pan America isn't. The Pan America won't need some of the accessories that the GS does, like cylinder head guards and maybe foot peg lowering brackets.. I'm anxious to ride one.

I'm not so sure about that. While the BMW definitely needs some type of engine guards due to the boxer I also see them on triumph tigers, ducatis multistradas, 1290s, etc.
These are still twenty thousand dollar bikes and when you dump them off-road I'd want something to take that damage. Either way I'm excited to see how the Harley will do. I doubt they get many converts, but it'll be interesting for sure. I hope it succeeds adventure riding is really a lot of fun.

The Pan America's OEM guards look like they would keep the engine off the ground in a crash.
I am quoting myself. I have to admit I was wrong.
recently I had a chance to ride it and all i have to say is : Job Well Done HD! First think i notice was how lite the bike was. it is a nibble bike for sure.
Plenty of power, great handling, good suspension on and off road. Great ergonomics, Easy electronics to learn and navigate, good brakes. Even the looks have grown on me.
I went on a test ride with a guy who owns GS1250 and KTM Adventure, he was also impressed as well, so much that he is ordering one.
That is it folks, I was wrong!

This Frankenbike can't compare to BMW GS models or the Triumph's Tiger line, I would not even mention KTM, Honda and Yamaha models. It is a disaster! WTF were they thinking with that front end.
If you consider purchasing this bike, do yourself a favor and go ride a BMW or Triumph.
