How about putting the drain plugs back in the lower legs, putting the tapered wheel bearings back in, clutch cable would be nice too. And a grease fitting so you can grease the neck bearings without taking the thing all apart. Seems to me all this was a step backwards.
Harley-Davidson has put the speedometer on the gas tank since the 1930s. You knew where it was when you bought the bike, and youre complaining now? Its been a non-issue for me for 26 years.
Buy a Road Glide or Street Glide if it bothers you so.

Cheaper to build without those simple conveniences, always about the share holders not those of us who own them.

Maybe thats why I love my 86 so much.Has all that and a bike you can fix yourself.
I gotta admit i don't look at the tach or speedo much unless i am on the highway. I come from the days of no speedo and no front brake and jockey shifting the motorcycle. And no rear shocks. Never had a working speedo on my shovelhead or panhead. 1991 was the first time in many years i had a bike that had one.
