I don't like handlebar mounted gauges, personally. I like the speedo in the dash on the tank.

Cheers!

I just set the cruise control and don't have to worry about it any more.

Slow down to 35.5 and turn your low e sting down half an octave.

I have a Deuce with a tachometer, and I bet you use your tach for most of your speed info without checking the speedometer because of its location.

Be sure not to look left or right for traffic???
Mirrors, head check before lane change?

Maybe a basic rider course is in order here?

I really only use the speedo at night because it has some nice colors I like looking at. I can pretty much tell u how fast I’m going listening to the motor when I ride normal. Anytime after normal you don’t need to be taking your eyes off the road.anyway, you’re in get a ticket zone.

Forget the speedo, I would just like to be able to check the air in my Road King's back tire without taking half the bike apart.

True enough, but the speedometer was “optional” until the 1936 EL61 or “Knucklehead”

Those early speedometers were mechanically driven from the rear wheel so the tank mounting was the obvious choice.
