Most of the hand tools that you find in the big box stores are made in China or Taiwan. Craftsman tools are made overseas now. I don't have a lot of faith in foreign made tools. I've been sourcing my tools through McMaster-Carr, their better grade tools are usually Blackhawk, Proto, made in the US. Prices are reasonable.

For home use, I have a mixture of Craftsman, Gearwrench, and crescent brand tools. Most of the Craftsman tools are 15 plus years old, the newer sets aren't as good as the older pre laser marked tools. Now if I need a 1 time use tool I buy from harbor freight or local stores. If it is a tool I need on a regular basis it's carlisle or gear wrench.
Harbor Freight has upped their game as of late. They're trying to become more mainstream, no more barrages of 20% off coupons, free stuff, etc. No, they're not Snap On, but for the average home mechanic type they're fine.
When you wrench for a living a broken tool means down time with no pay and a pissed off customer. For the home guy it's just an inconvenience.

Yea as much as I would like quality, I certainly don't wrench for a living and the high dollar brands are hard to justify. Kind of interested in icon ... not sure how their warranty works as HF doesn't stock indiv wrenches I believe. Probably and inconvenience to get a wrench sent by mail.
