It was mid 60’s in GA today so I took my 9 year old daughter for a ride. After about 20 miles I stopped for gas and she said she was tired so I took her home. She loves to ride but it relaxes her to the point of getting drowsy sometimes! I went back out for more therapy and hit some heavy traffic due to an accident. Once I got got closer I saw what looked to be the remains of a Wide Glide, and not far from it was the rider covered by a sheet...damn it. I’ve seen my fair share of dead/mangled bodies from my time as a firefighter in my younger days but even if your numb to it, it still sucks to see another rider go down like that. At least they went out doing what they loved to do. Ride safe everyone there are way too many distracted and mentally challenged drivers out there.
They're having a lot of wrecks around my neck of the woods. 2 sport bikes hit a left turner a couple of days ago. 18 and 30yr both died on the spot.
They were moving from the damage on the SUV. People were saying they were doing over 100.

Squids, to me riding a sport bike on the street is like paying for a prostitute that will only let you get to second base...you need a race track to go all the way
I was on a trip with family one time and pulled into a gas station to fill the car up. There were 3 guys who had just gassed up and getting ready to pull out, one of them on an Indian - not sure what the other two were on. We take a few minutes at the station and get back on the highway and in no time are stuck in traffic. We creep along and before you know it we came upon the 3 guys on bikes from the gas station and a stopped semi. The Indian was (no exaggeration) broken into two pieces - the front end and then everything else. Craziest thing I’d ever seen.
Not sure what happened, not sure if the Indian rider lived - but it made me sick. That’s the only experience I have other than stories on the news or secondhand from others. Hope I never see another!

Finding a Harley's limit on the street isn't hard but you don't need to do that to have fun, or at least I don't. Same applies to sport bikes.
It was good that your daughter was not with you to see this.
You’re exactly right, too early for her to see stuff like that. We know the risks when we go out on 2 wheels but I guess it was a reminder for me to be extra vigilant.
