Default J&S Jack question

My friend just got a J&S Jack delivered yesterday and put it together today. Its lift arms in the front are 4.5" off the ground and in the back there about 5.5". I have a 5 year old J&S that's 3.5" in the front of the arms in 4.5" in the back. He has the Jack screwed all the way down and there is nothing binding or stopping it from getting lower. Has something changed on the J&S Jacks as far as it's fully collapsed arm height? When my Jack is fully collapsed the bottom of the lift arm in the front of the Jack touches the frame. He has at least 3/4 to 1 inch Gap.... he put a call in to J&S but they are closed until Monday. I'm thinking they drilled the arms wrong but they look exactly the same as mine. TIA

it's assembled correctly. All you have to do is put in the two screws to mount the jack to the lift. The adjustable height screw shaft is screwed all the way down as far as it could go and inserted it into the slot in the arm. He opened up the valve and stood on the jack and it will not go down any further

I have an idea that he did not center the Jack correctly and the shaft is not going into the hole on the arm and maybe is catching the edge of the hole preventing it from bottoming out. He's going down to check it now. More to follow.

Is there the same amount of difference between the two bike frames? His frame is higher than yours?

Edit: never mind. Looked at the pics again and noticed the difference. The front of his jack isn't coming down as far based on the gaps between the front of the lift arm and the wheel on the jack.

I just got off the video phone with him and everything is correct. The adjustable height lift arm is fitting into the socket where it should on the frame. He even bypassed the jack and there was no change. He can't even find what is stopping the arms from collapsing. All nuts and bolts are clearing and all crossbars are clearing the frame but it will not collapse completely. He's a very knowledgeable guy who does a lot of work on his own bikes and cars so I don't think this is user error.... I'm going to try to stop at his house over the weekend to see what I could find. He paid a lot of money for this Jack and is a little disappointed at this point. Hopefully he could get through to J&S on Monday
