Default LoJack

Does anyone use a gps locator? Something like LoJack?

just bought a street Glider and I’m wondering if it’s needed.

I have one on my Jetski. I live in South Florida so theft is common

It is garage kept in a very safe and low crime area

If my bike is stolen, I don't want it back. That's why I have insurance.

LoJack is dependent on Police departments installing the receivers, and cops turning it on and acting upon it when they get a signal from one that has been activated.

Cops love LoJack because before cell phones, they could see your lojack info on most states DMV records, so if you they were looking for you they would run your license and car info, get the LoJack SN and ask that it be activated.

Keep it locked, keep it as hidden as possible, chain it if you have to, and insure the living daylights out of it.

I use Soterus1. I had it installed when I purchased the bike by the dealer.

100% this. I love my bike and would be devastated to have it stolen but if it was, I'm calling insurance. I don't want it back

For the record, LoJack stopped making units for motorcycles many years ago. I agree with Keith. If you want your motorcycle back, get it back in the form of money from your insurance company.

Getting it back would be a nightmare. Chances are it would be trashed. Insurance is the way to go

I bought a couple of these just to try. Put one in my son and daughters cars. They work well. As long as they stay in business your phone is your police dept. Think I paid 30 apiece.

If you have a bike that you don't owe money on a way to save money on insurance and still be covered for theft, fire and vandalism is to only carry liability and comprehensive insurance.
Collision is the part of "full coverage" that costs a lot.

What does comprehensive cover?

Comprehensive covers damages to your vehicle in certain situations. It's sometimes referred to as "other than collision" coverage. All that means is that it may cover damages to your vehicle that collision coverage doesn't. This may include, but is not limited to, things like:
  • Theft
  • Glass breakage
  • Fire
  • Floods and Hail
  • Hitting an animal
I have multiple bikes and comprehensive insurance only adds about $30 per year to liability insurance per bike.

Totally agree with that. If my bike is stolen then it's been abused for sure.. Even if the insurance finds it, I will demand cash value instead.
