Exclamation ECM code help

Yesterday while riding the check engine light came on. Pulled over & shut it down. Checked for codes & an ECM code "P0572" showed, checked the Fuel Moto website & it listed "P0572 Brake Switch Low".
Started back up, no check engine light so I headed home (about 5 miles).
What do I need to do? Not sure what this code means. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Could be several things unfortunately, brake switch failing, PCM problem or even wiring issues... tests will have to be done to see the voltage output at least of the front and rear brake switches as a start

OBD II Fault Code

  • OBD II P0572
OBD-II Code Cruise control will not operate is defined as a Brake Switch "A" Circuit Low

The Brake Switch tells the engine control module (PCM) that the brake pedal is depressed. This switch also controls the brake lights. If the PCM detects the vehicle is slowing down without the brake light switch telling the PCM the pedal is depressed, the PCM will set code P0572.

Cruise control will not operate Symptoms

  • Brake lights may not illuminate
  • Cruise control will not operate

Common Problems That Trigger the P0572 Code

  • Brake switch failure
  • Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failure
  • Wiring issue

I would say that if the code has cleared and doesn't show up again, and everything works correctly on the bike, then don't worry about it.

Follow up;
Code didn't come back, but, brake lights didn't work with the rear brake, only front. Replaced rear brake light switch, all good now.
Thanks Maccam26 & nevil for the help!
