Default Heritage

Hi all new guy here with a real dilemma I joined on here for for a couple reasons one of which is I'm looking for a little help, I bought a 1997 Heritage softtail beautiful bike problem is it only has 7 miles on it yes just seven miles. Story goes this guy bought the bike new in late 96 and was on his way to Alaska through British Columbia and had problems with his pick up so he sold the bike to pay for repairs, I have proper papers and customs documents so it wasn't stolen. The problem is do I ride it or is there someone out there that would like to have it because of it being newish?

It's almost warm enough and I'm so tempted to go for a ride but it's only "new" once.

She's never saw daylight until my nephew bought it,rode it home the two blocks and when I loaded it in my truck to take home no cracks in the tires but ya should put new ones on probably has flat spots from sitting so many years and totally agree with fluid change.

You could call the HD Museum as ask if they are interested. There is also a museum in Vancouver (dealership). If not, new fluids and rubber and ride it like you stole it...

I'd ride it for sure. Make sure you go over the bike first. Change fluids and tires, and it wouldn't hurt to check that no critters made homes...air filter, exhausts etc..!

it would be cool to have it, but if you are thinking it's more valuable because it has sat, I think you are going to be disappointed

bikers are typically more impulsive than the general population....risk takers, thrill seekers, emotional decision makers....you get it

bikes are not necessary, usually

a lot of folks really love the idea of owning a bike, but after buying one, realize they really don't like riding bikes, just standing around at bars with other guys and their bikes playing grabass

for that reason, it's not unusual to find a bike that a guy impulsively bought, but could not afford or doesn't want.....the original owner of that bike was clearly that kind of guy, if he couldn't handle his financial **** and can't fund a repair on his vehicle without selling his bike, he had no business buying it in the first place

Some things on that bike are mint and you'll realize the lack of wear and tear by owning it, but not by selling it.

Get it up to snuff and ride it, brother!!!

I agree I justed to get some opinions because I myself would think it's cool to own such a low mile bike, just wondering if it's something special or just another Heritage with low miles
