I'd be looking into the Softail Sport Glide or the Heritage if I was going to do a lot of riding with a passenger, as I'm not a fan of the looks of touring bikes. However if I were interested in a touring bike, the lean angle wouldn't put me off. Look at all those videos of motor officers doing all those tight turns.

Ill check them out. Im kinda the same way... not a big fan of how the touring bikes look.
I have ridden the Tail of the Dragon and did not have a problem with foot boards scraping in the curves. If you are a good rider with your head on right there's no problem with Touring models with foot boards.
This is me on my Road King doing the Dragon. Notice the foot board clearance.

I rode the speed limit which was 35mpg on the dragon. Yep a wise old man who's never wrecked a bike or myself since I started in 1965 and I've had a lot of fun doing it !!!
