ok, so i am looking at purchasing my first harley in december. it will almost be like my first bike as i haven't ridden since 81 and back then it was rice rockets and dirt bikes. while i have an idea on the one i want, i would like to ask you folks a question...
i can kinda understand the purchase decision for the sportsters, vrod and the touring models, but what are the decisions for selecting a dyna model over the soft tail model (and visa versa)?
Softail engines are rigid mounted with a balanced engine to reduce vibration. Dyna engines are rubber mount and the engines are not balanced.
Notice the rear shocks are visible on the dyna but not so on the softail. Because of that alot (myself included) of Harley riders prefer the look of the softail.
Go where your heart (and wallet) takes you. It's hard to make a mistake. Whatever you get, it probably won't be your last bike and down the road you will probably have tried all of them out!!!!
