Default Boots

One thing to consider is if you want a boot to last is if it is rebuildable. Stitch down and Goodyear welt construction are. Wesco custom boots are fully rebuildable, you can ship them back to Wesco and they will reheal or resole them, make repairs if need also. Rubber sole boots are glued not stitched soles. They delaminate over time, most are made in China.
Danner, Wolverine, Chippewa, Red Wings, Nicks, Rocket blasters, Royal Club, Areostich, Style Martins, White's all are rebuildable quality.
l also have a pair of Chippewa Rally boots made in America which are a very nice off the shelf motorcycle specific riding boot.

I picked up a pair of wellington work boots a couple years back from Tractor supply, I must say they are very comfortable, I can ride and walk around in them all day.

Purchased a pair of TCX Hero waterproof boots a few months ago. Sales manager at Cycle Gear was actually wearing them when I went to try on and he said they were the most comfortable boot he's owned and they were wearing in nice with an vintage look, he bought the black too. They're CE rated and really comfortable! Had dry feet on a recent Florida ride.
This is the most $$ I've parted with for boots, hoping they get some high mileage on them ....

I've tried motorcycle specific boots in the past but just never cared for them so I just wear my everyday boots. I have several styles(pull on & lace up) of Red Wing American made boots that can be rebuilt when needed. My other boots are Carolina and Chippewa engineers, regular height and knee high.

When Red Wing, Chippewa, and some of the others started shutting down their American lines I stocked up on some of my favorite styles. I am set from here on out unless I find something new I like.

You are going to be pleasantly surprised by the Nick's Handmade. Nowhere on Earth are better boots made than what comes out of Spokane. Nick's and White's are in a class of their own. They will take commitment to break in though.

How do you squeeze your toes in the ends of those pointy boots? Just asking for a friend.

Mr. S., pls tell ur friend he is a "dope". LOL!! I 'juss kidd'n yeah man.........common question actually.
.
Below are my 1st boots back when I was about 17 y.o. Still gott'm today. LUV'm!
.

.
See below, I think the toes goes something like this.

THIS is the LEFT foot.
.

.
If U like Mr. S., I can put them on (yes, they still fit) and see if I can determine better, just where "them there" toes are.

The toes certainly do not go all the way to the tip.

When ordering your own boots, you get a choice of something like 6 diff type of toe styles. Blunt, square, oval, pointy, etc....

Give this to your friend for me.

Thanks for clearing that toe location up. I am sure my friend will sleep better tonight knowing this information.

@BuzzCap7 , appears we share a boot thing... A man just can't have enough good boots!

So far as riding boots go I look for a few things... A rubber sole is a must. 12" or higher shaft preferred to keep them under the jeans. Comfortable and broken-in enough to nudge the shifter.

Like a few others have mentioned, I wear boots and heavy socks all year round.

I've got some great boots with leather soles that I won't ride with. In fact, just this week I was seaching-out a cobbler to inquire about options to change-out or mod the soles.
