Default 39 mm front ends

Are all 39 MM front ends the same? For instance- Sportsters, Low Riders and Super Glides from the 90s up through the mid 2000s all had 39 mm front ends. Are the parts interchangeable? Could I use the springs from a Sportster in a Super Glide or are there differences based on the heavier weight of the Big Twins versus the Sportsters?

Best way to be sure is to go to Ronnies online microfiche, and look up the parts and numbers.

I would expect those springs to be different rates.

Good idea, I checked and they’re different part numbers.

Race Tech fork springs...
Ya gotta watch the axle hole diameter too, as some are 25mm and some are 1". (Yeah, I know they're close....)

1999 and earlier has 3/4" axles. Sportsters and Big Twins have different rate fork springs. FXRT and FXRT-CON models have 2" longer fork tubes.

Aside from axle size changes, which only effect the lower fork tubes, yes they're interchangeable.
